Carlo Ancelotti To Keep Coaching As Long As His Passion For Football Burns Bright
Carlo Ancelotti has no intention of ending his distinguished coaching career anytime soon. He plans to continue as long as he feels the pre-game nerves. Ancelotti, one of Europe's most successful coaches, holds a record five Champions League titles. His latest victory came with Real Madrid in June, defeating Borussia Dortmund at Wembley Stadium.
Ancelotti's fifth Champions League title was secured after a series of dramatic matches. Real Madrid faced Manchester City in the quarter-finals, advancing on penalties despite facing 33 shots in the second leg at Etihad Stadium. In the semi-finals, Joselu's late goals against Bayern Munich at Santiago Bernabeu turned the tide in their favour.

The Italian coach often appears calm amidst chaos but admits he still experiences pre-match anxiety. "A life without pressure or a little stress does not exist," he said at the Mexico Siglo XXI event. "Too much stress, no, but a little is fuel. The day I don't have excitement before a match is the day I have to stop."
Ancelotti elaborated on his feelings before games: "Before a match there is worry, there is a negative feeling thinking that it will not go well, that they will score a goal. When the match starts, everything stops." He emphasised the importance of finding calm to manage game situations effectively.
Despite his extensive experience and numerous accolades, Ancelotti remains passionate about football. "I will continue coaching until the fire I have for football dies down," he stated. Reflecting on his career, he added, "Some great things have happened in my life, some difficult moments. My life has been normal."
Collaborative Leadership Style
Ancelotti's leadership style involves engaging his star players in decision-making processes. He believes this collaborative approach is crucial for success. "It is very difficult to explain what a leader should be like," he said. "It is much more important to convince than to impose your opinion on them."
"A leader must have the ability to listen to those who work with you," Ancelotti continued. "They can always give you ideas that can help you." He stressed the importance of being open to learning and not assuming one knows everything just because they are in charge.
Ancelotti remains committed to coaching as long as his passion for football persists. He expressed gratitude for having a job that aligns with his passion and acknowledged how fortunate he feels for the opportunities football has provided him.
