By Prashant

London, Feb 4: Manchester United misfit Anderson has left the club to join Internacional after almost eight years at Old Trafford.

Anderson made an initial impact after joining Manchester United from Porto for around 20 million pounds in 2007, scoring a penalty in the 2008 Champions League final shootout victory over Chelsea.

However, he only made 70 Premier League starts durring his eight-years long and injury-hit spell at Old Trafford, and his only appearences this season came as a substitute in the 0-0 draw with Burnley and the 4-0 humiliation by Milton Keynes in the League Cup.

Sir Alex Ferguson, who signed Anderson, identified him as a possible successor to Paul Scholes and he was also a first-team regular for first four years at Old Trafford. However, a combination of serious injuries and struggles with his weight reduced his playing time for Manchester United

Manchester United midfielder Juan Mata had already announced that Anderson was due to leave the club.
