Ansu Fati Signs Four-year Monaco Deal, Making Move Permanent From Barcelona
Ansu Fati has completed a permanent transfer to Monaco after a strong loan season. The Spanish forward scored 12 goals in 30 matches in 2025-26 across all competitions. Monaco have rewarded that form with a four-year contract, reportedly worth 11m in transfer fees.
The deal keeps Ansu Fati at Monaco until 2030, ending a 15-year spell with Barcelona. Fati joined the Barcelona academy in 2011 and debuted for the senior side at 16, when many viewed Fati as Lionel Messi’s natural successor.

At Barcelona, Ansu Fati’s progress stalled because of repeated injuries. Later, under Hansi Flick in 2024-25, Fati struggled to secure a regular starting role. The loan to Monaco offered crucial minutes and stability, allowing Fati to rebuild confidence and fitness in Ligue 1 competition.
Fati’s 11 Ligue 1 goals in 2025-26 represented the best league return of Fati’s career. Fati had previously hit seven league goals for Barcelona in both 2019-20 and 2022-23. Overall, the 12 goals for Monaco made Fati the club’s second-top scorer, supported by elite efficiency.
