Anthony Gordon has committed to Newcastle United by signing a new long-term contract. Previously linked with a potential move to Liverpool, the winger has decided to stay at St. James' Park. Since joining from Everton in January 2023, Gordon has made 74 appearances for Newcastle across all competitions and was named the club's Player of the Season last term.
Gordon has been a key player for Newcastle, scoring 15 goals and providing 11 assists in various competitions. His performance on the field is notable, as only Kieran Trippier and Bruno Guimaraes have created more chances for the team since his debut. This season, he has scored twice in the Premier League, with Harvey Barnes being the only player with more goals.

The club expressed their excitement about Gordon's contract renewal through a tweet:
Gordon shared his enthusiasm about staying with Newcastle, stating that he feels the club is progressing well since its takeover. He mentioned that his playing style aligns perfectly with the manager's vision. "I just think the club's in a great place. Since the takeover, it's just been up and up. Me and the gaffer are a perfect match in terms of style of play. I love it here," he told the club's website.
Gordon is determined to help Newcastle achieve success by winning trophies. He expressed his desire to be part of a team that brings silverware to St. James' Park after a long wait for fans. "I'm very happy here, I like living here, the team is very suited to me - and I'm here to win a trophy," he said.
The winger emphasised how significant it would be for him personally and for the fans if they could secure a trophy soon. "The short story is, we need to win a trophy. Winning a trophy here would be unbelievable because the fans have waited so long," he added.
With Gordon's commitment and ambition aligning with Newcastle's goals, both parties are optimistic about future successes on and off the pitch.
