Antonio Conte eyeing shock January move for ex-Chelsea forward

London, Dec 14: In a surprising turn of event Liverpool forward Daniel Sturridge has been tipped to join his former club, Premier League champions Chelsea in the January transfer window with Antonio Conte said to be searching for a new backup striker after losing faith in Michy Batshuayi.

It is believed that Antonio Conte is not happy with his second choice striker Batshyayi and is ready to let him go in the January transfer window in a bid to land another new partner for new addition Alvaro Morata.

On the other hand, Sturridge who also has been made a fringe player under Klopp is also reportedly expressed his desire to leave the Merseysiders for game time.

For the last 3-4 years, the English forward has endured many obstacles in the field of football as since the 2012/13 season he missed well over 500 days through injury.

His consistent injury problems forced him below in the pecking order and he subsequently lost his place to other forwards in Liverpool, as even new addition, u21 player Dominic Solanke is also now regarded as a better option than him in the current line up.

But now as per reports, the Blues are considering resigning the player who left the club in 2013 to join the Reds.

Sturridge left Stamford Bridge for Anfield back in 2013 as he wasn’t getting enough game time at Chelsea, however, following five years on the situation has again turned out same for him and with World Cup looming on the door, the forward is ready to pose a challenge in a bid to secure his place in Russia.

Apart from Chelsea, other options like West Ham United, Real Betis and Valencia have also come as options and it will be interesting to see in which side the striker will join in the coming window.
