Antonio Conte Warns Napoli About Future: Planning Is Key To Success In Serie A

Despite this success, Antonio Conte hinted at a possible departure from the club, citing his inability to rely solely on miracles instead of strategic planning.

Conte expressed dissatisfaction with certain aspects of his tenure at Napoli. He mentioned that after eight months, he realised some things are unachievable at the club. Reports suggest his frustration stems from Khvicha Kvaratskhelia's mid-season exit without a replacement. Conte plans to discuss his future with club president Aurelio De Laurentiis at season's end.

"I have admiration and respect for the president," Conte stated. "They asked me to give a helping hand, and I am doing that, but the Napoli fans want to win, and they have this ambition. If they don't win, they can become nasty."

Despite not being expected to compete for the Scudetto this season following last year's 10th-place finish, high expectations were placed on Conte upon his arrival. He acknowledged these pressures but emphasised the need for proper resources to meet them. "I put big pressure on myself, but I also need the right weapons to fight with," he explained.

Conte highlighted his positive relationship with De Laurentiis but stressed the importance of mutual respect. He noted recent incidents of disrespect towards their projects, which disappointed him. "I don't care about that, but I was disappointed with the looting of our projects," he remarked.

De Laurentiis' Response

In response to Conte's comments, De Laurentiis expressed concern over their timing amid Napoli's title race. Speaking to Radio Crc via Football Italia, he suggested evaluations should be reserved for season's end to avoid unsettling the team. "All football teams are in a process of evolution to the end," he said.

Conte remains committed to achieving success with Napoli and is determined not to let down their passionate supporters. He aims for clarity in discussions with De Laurentiis regarding future plans and resources needed for continued progress.

The income from Champions League qualification will provide financial support for Napoli's ambitions. The sale of Kvaratskhelia also contributed positively.
