East Bengal defender Anwar Ali has received a massive boost after getting No Objection Certificate (NOC) from All India Football Federation's Players' Status Committee on Thursday (September 19).
The AIFF's PSC has cleared Anwar Ali and has provided him the NOC to play for East Bengal, thus resolving the issue of the player.

Anwar Ali was banned for four months after Mohun Bagan Super Giant filed a breach of contract against the player. The India defender joined East Bengal this season after leaving the Mariners, where he was loaned from Delhi FC for two seasons. But the Mariners claimed wrongful and illegal termination of the contract and lodged the legal battle.
After the massive dispute, AIFF's PSC slammed the player guilty and banned him for four months. The committee also ordered East Bengal and Delhi FC to pay a mammoth compensation to the Mariners.
"Anwar Ali will serve a four-month sporting ban, while East Bengal and Delhi FC will face two transfer window bans, starting from the January transfer window. All three parties Ali, Delhi FC, and East Bengal-must pay Rs 12.90 crores in compensation to Mohun Bagan," the earlier PSC report wrote.
AIFF's legal counsel admitted that Anwar's ban verdict was not provided with proper cause, and the court nullified all of the previous NOCs and proceedings. The ruling from the Delhi High Court ordered the PSC to release a fresh verdict, the tables have turned. The four-member PSC bench chaired by Godfred Periera has granted NOC to the player.
"The player's subsequent conduct of signing with East Bengal FC be given effect to
pursuant to Article 9.5 of the AIFF Regulations on Status and Transfer of Players
and the CRS be updated by treating this order as the requisite release letter/NOC," the AIFF statement says.
In the second order of the committee, they have ordered East Bengal and Delhi FC to record their stance against Mohun Bagan's allegations. The committee also has ordered Mohun Bagan's response copy to be shared with East Bengal and Delhi FC as East Bengal raised objections against Mohun Bagan's allegations.
Both East Bengal and Delhi FC have been given ten days to file their response and they will have to submit a response by 29th September.
