Argentina bans 15,000 Fans from Entering USA before Club World Cup 2025, Sends expanded List

By MyKhel Staff

The FIFA Club World Cup 2025 is set to take place in the United States this summer. It will be the biggest edition of the tournament so far, with 32 teams from across the world competing in various American cities.

Among the participating clubs are Argentina's two most popular and passionate teams - River Plate and Boca Juniors, two giants of the South American football.

Argentina bans 15 000 Fans

With fan safety a top priority, the Argentine government has taken strong action to prevent violence during the event. On Monday, Argentina's Security Minister Patricia Bullrich gave the US Embassy in Buenos Aires a list of 15,000 football fans with a record of violent behaviour, as per a report from the Athletic.

These individuals will not be allowed to enter stadiums during the tournament as they have prior offences for hooliganism and vandalism.

"For us, this is extremely important because no violent person who has committed any crime in Argentine stadiums will be able to attend this sporting event," Bullrich said during a press interaction.

In a widely shared press conference, Bullrich unrolled a long printed list of the names. The moment was broadcasted on television and published by national media outlet Clarín.

The names on the list were collected using a government program called Tribuna Segura, which means "Safer Stands." This system helps officials track fans who are banned from stadiums in Argentina.

According to Bullrich, more than 4 million people have been monitored through this system at 1,328 football matches. The tool has helped authorities find 1,166 people with active arrest warrants and has led to over 40 official restrictions on stadium entry.

Boca Juniors are placed in Group C along with Auckland City, Bayern Munich and Benfica. On the other hand, River Plate are in Group E, with Chelsea, Urawa Red Diamonds and Club de Futbol Monterrey as company.
