Arnaud Kalimuendo Loan Move To Eintracht Frankfurt Ends Forest Stay

Arnaud Kalimuendo has departed Nottingham Forest to join Eintracht Frankfurt on loan for the remainder of the 2025/26 season, with an option for a permanent deal. The striker, who joined Forest from Rennes, has had limited Premier League playing time this campaign, and the move provides Frankfurt with offensive options ahead of the Bundesliga restart.

Arnaud Kalimuendo has left Nottingham Forest to join Eintracht Frankfurt on loan for the remainder of the 2025/26 season, with the German club holding an option to buy, even though Chris Wood is out with a long-term injury.

The French forward, who arrived from Rennes during the summer transfer window, has struggled for minutes at Nottingham Forest and featured for just 89 minutes in Premier League action this campaign, prompting the move to the Bundesliga.

Kalimuendo joins Eintracht Frankfurt on loan

Eintracht Frankfurt can make Kalimuendo’s stay permanent at the end of the current campaign if the loan works out, and Kalimuendo could make a first appearance for Frankfurt against Borussia Dortmund on Friday, when the Bundesliga season restarts after its winter break.

Forest are already looking for a replacement striker and have been linked with Wolves forward Jorgen Strand Larsen, as Forest, who beat West Ham 2-1 on Tuesday, seek more attacking depth following Kalimuendo’s departure and Wood’s injury.

Wolves are reportedly prepared to sell Jorgen Strand Larsen this month after the Norway international lost a starting place to Tolu Arokodare, although Strand Larsen impressed from the bench on Wednesday by assisting Mateus Mane's equaliser in a 1-1 draw with Everton.

Nottingham Forest announced the loan switch on social media, sharing the official details of the agreement with Eintracht Frankfurt.

Kalimuendo’s switch offers a fresh opportunity in Germany after limited involvement at Nottingham Forest, while Forest’s interest in Jorgen Strand Larsen underlines the club’s need to reshape the forward line during the current window.
