Arsenal Achieve Historic Disciplinary Perfection in Premier League Triumph
Arsenal have completed the 2025-26 Premier League campaign without conceding a single penalty or receiving a red card, an unprecedented feat in the competition’s history.
Mikel Arteta’s side clinched their first title since the 2003-04 Invincibles, finishing with 85 points (26 wins, 7 draws, 5 losses), 71 goals scored, and just 27 conceded.

Zero penalties conceded and zero Red Cards for Arsenal
This remarkable defensive and disciplinary record underscored a mature evolution under Arteta. Arsenal's backline, anchored by William Saliba, Gabriel Magalhães, and Golden Glove winner David Raya, delivered 19 clean sheets while winning a league-high number of physical duels. The team committed 391 fouls but earned only 51 yellow cards - the fewest among top contenders - and avoided any dismissals or spot-kick concessions across all 38 matches.
This is the first time in the history of the Premier League that a team has managed either of the two achievements.
This achievement stands in stark contrast to prior campaigns. In 2024-25, Arsenal received six reds and conceded three penalties. The 2025-26 turnaround reflected improved tactical awareness, smarter decision-making in challenges, and a squad culture that emphasised control over aggression. Key midfielders like Declan Rice and new signing Martín Zubimendi helped shield the defence, minimising dangerous fouls inside the box.
Analysts have hailed the record as proof of Arsenal’s “mature rebuild.” Despite their high-pressing style and set-piece threat, which produced a record 19 goals from corners, no opponent was awarded a penalty. Rivals occasionally questioned decisions, but data confirmed elite defending without recklessness.
This flawless disciplinary record not only powered Arsenal seven points clear of Manchester City but etched their name permanently in Premier League lore. As captain Martin Ødegaard lifted the trophy, the Gunners celebrated a campaign that blended attacking flair with ironclad discipline, the ultimate statement of champions.
The Gunners have been excellent in the UEFA Champions League as well, and will play in the Final against PSG on Saturday.
