New Delhi, Aug 27: Arsenal have agreed a fee with Watford for the transfer of defender Kieran Gibbs according to a host of reports in England.
Watford are believed to have agreed a fee of £5 million with Arsenal for Gibbs, but agreeing on personal terms with the defender could still be a stumbling block for the Hornets due to his wage demands.
Arsenal are willing to let Gibbs move on as he is well down the pecking order in Arsene Wenger's plans. With Nacho Monreal and new signing Sead Kolasinac at the club, Gibbs also needs to move on if he wants first-team football.
The Englishman has not featured for Arsenal this season, and with the player in the final year of his contract Arsenal have decided to sell.
England international Gibbs is now set to move on in search of regular first-team football after finding himself out of favour at Arsenal.
Watford have been leading the chase for Gibbs all summer as Marco Silva looks to bring a new left-back before the close of the transfer window.
West Brom pulled out of talks to sign Gibbs last month after having a £10m bid rejected, while Newcastle have also been credited with an interest in the 27-year-old.
Gibbs, who has 10 England caps, is a product of Arsenal's academy. He made his debut in 2007 after spending a short time on loan at Norwich City.
A number of Arsenal players including Gibbs are on the final year of their contracts with Arsenal and the Gunners will be looking to sell most of them rather than losing them for free next season.
Arsenal are meanwhile sweating on the situations of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Alexis Sanchez who have both rejected contract offers and have attracted interest from a host of clubs as well.
