Arsenal and Man United in battle for Barcelona's Dani Olmo - Who is ahead in the Race?

By MyKhel Staff

Arsenal and Manchester United are reportedly among the clubs vying for Dani Olmo's signature amid uncertainty surrounding his future at Barcelona.

The Spain international only joined the Catalan giants in the summer, but the club's inability to register him for the second half of the season due to La Liga's financial restrictions has thrown his future into question.

Dani Olmo

The situation has sparked interest from several top clubs, including Arsenal and United, as well as the rest of the Premier League's "big six".

For Arsenal, Olmo could be a much-needed reinforcement. Following a recent injury setback for Bukayo Saka, the Gunners have struggled to find consistent performances from attackers like Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard. Olmo, with his creative flair and eye for goal, could provide a significant boost to Mikel Arteta's side as they aim to challenge on multiple fronts.

The 26-year-old playmaker enjoyed a stellar 2024, winning the European Championship with Spain and producing ten goals and four assists in his last 24 appearances across all competitions.

Manchester United's interest in Olmo also makes sense, given their current struggles. Sitting 14th in the Premier League, United find themselves closer to the relegation zone than the top four. The Red Devils are in desperate need of quality reinforcements across the board, and Olmo's attacking prowess could help rejuvenate their lackluster performances under Ruben Amorim.

Arsenal or Man United - Who will win the Battle for Dani Olmo?

While both Arsenal and Manchester United are serious contenders for Olmo's signature, Arsenal are miles ahead if they want the player. The Gunners' upward trajectory under Mikel Arteta, combined with their need for attacking reinforcements, makes them an ideal destination for the Barcelona star.

Manchester United, on the other hand, may struggle to lure Olmo given their current instability and underwhelming league position. Ultimately, the decision could come down to which club can offer Olmo the right balance of playing opportunities.
