Arsenal announce 26-member squad for USA Tour; New Signing named, Star Players Missing

Arsenal are set to bon voyage for their pre-season tour in USA, which commences with a match against Bournemouth on July 25.

The Gunners will play two more matches, against Manchester United and Liverpool respectively.

Ahead of that, the Gunners have named a 26-member squad for the USA tour. Mikel Arteta has opted to pick a lot of youngsters while a few big names are missing from the team.

The pre-season friendlies are a way to come back to full fitness for the players and allow the clubs to connect with their outer fanbase. And Arteta has handed a lot of opportunities to youngsters.

12 Academy Players included in Arsenal Squad

A total of 12 academy players have been named by Arteta. Karl Hein is likely to be the main keeper in the absence of David Raya and Aaron Ramsdale, who were part of the Euro 2024. New signing goalkeeper Tommy Setford, who joined the club from Ajax Academy, has also been included in the team.

Michal Rosiak, Myles Lewis-Skelly and Charles Sagoe Jr are among the other prominent U-18 players in the team. Omar Rekik, a Tunisia international, will also be flying to the USA for a taste of the pre-season tour.

Among the first team players, captain Martin Odegaard will lead the team while the likes of Emile Smith Rowe, Gabriel Jesus, Thomas Partey and Reiss Nelson are present.

Jorginho, Leandro Trossard, Oleksandr Zinchenko and Jakub Kiwior are going to travel as they were not given an extended break despite taking part in the Euro 2024.

Bukayo Saka and Other Stars not Included

Bukayo Saka, who played in the Euro final with England, will not travel to USA. Brazil duo Gabriel Martinelli and Gabriel Magalhaes are not included, same as France's William Saliba and Spain goalkeeper David Raya, who won the Euros.

Japanese defender Takehiro Tomiyasu won't travel to USA either after sustaining an injury. Kieran Tierney was not included either indicating a possible transfer away for the Scotland international in the transfer window.
