Arsenal appoint Sven Mislintat as chief scout

London, November 21: Arsenal have confirmed the appointment of Sven Mislintat as their new head of recruitment.

Steve Rowley has stood down after 25 years service to Arsenal as their chief scout and the Gunners have made it quite quick to find his successor and they have found a gem in Mislintat who formerly was the chief scout of Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund.

According to Sport Bild, Arsenal will pay Borussia Dortmund around £1.8million for the 45-year-old super scout who is touted as the 'Diamond Eye' for his excellence in finding talents.

In a statement, the Gunners were quick to point out Mislintat who "is credited with creating the pipeline for young talent at Dortmund which has produced the likes of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Shinji Kagawa and Ousmane Dembele."

Arsene Wenger added: "We are delighted that Sven is joining us. Identifying and developing talent is a core part of our philosophy and Sven has an outstanding track record over many years.

"We would like to thank Steve Rowley for all his hard work over many years for the club.

"He has been a key figure in our recruitment of so many top players and has travelled thousands and thousands of miles, watching hundreds of games for us during his time at the club. We wish him well for the future.”

Mislintat had been at Dortmund since 2007 and he was contracted until 2021 to the German giants. During his time at the Signal Iduna Park, he did an excellent job in finding players like Ilkay Gundogan, Roberto Lewandowski, Ousmane Dembele, Shinji Kagawa and plenty more.

Arsenal fans will be surely happy with the appointment of the new chief scout who is credited to build one of the best scouting networks in Europe during his time at Signal Iduna Park.
