Arsenal could sell Holding in the summer

Bengaluru, February 4: Arsenal want £15million for defender Rob Holding as he heads for the exit at the end of the season.

The young defender has been unable to make a first-team place his own at the Emirates, despite starring in the FA Cup final last season.

The 22-year-old has had the price put on his head following an inquiry from Burnley. The Clarets wanted to pay a low £4m fee for Holding after being quoted £20m for Joe Worrall, 21, by Nottingham Forest.

Manager Sean Dyche is likely to try his luck again for the pair in the summer as he seeks an extra centre-half.

There could be competition for England U21 star Holding, although the price might scare most of his admirers.

However, £15million is not that big a deal for most Premier League clubs nowadays.

Meanwhile, Arsene Wenger has hinted that former star man Alexis Sanchez is earning a staggering £600,000-a-week at Manchester United.

The Chilean left the Emirates for Old Trafford in a swap deal involving Henrikh Mkhitaryan moving the other way last month.

When questioned if Sanchez was earning that amount, Wenger reportedly pointed to the ceiling as if to confirm the rumour.

Arsenal had a stunning 5-1 win on Saturday against Everton thanks to a hat-trick from Aaron Ramsey while Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scored a goal on his debut.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan also impressed on his first start for the North London club with a hat-trick of assists to his name.

Arsenal are still some way off the fourth spot but with the quality they now have up front, they might very well take in down to the wire to the likes of Man United, Liverpool, Chelsea and Spurs.
