Arsenal have agree personal terms with midfielder, and its not Declan Rice

Arsenal are looking to bolster their squad ahead of the upcoming season. After a decent bid for the PL title, the Gunners came short last season as they fell behind Manchester City by just 4 points.

Amid an excellent upsurge in their title race, the Gunners manager Mikel Arteta is tipped to strengthen his squad ahead of the new season. The summer transfer window promises to be an excellent window for the North London side and they have potentially identified their targets.

Arsenal are aiming to add a couple of midfielders to their ranks. Granit Xhaka's potential departure means a midfield void needs to be filled, and Arsenal are looking to make at least a couple of marquee signings at the heart of midfield.

The Gunners are reportedly eyeing Declan Rice from West Ham. The English midfielder is tipped to join the North London club next season and will significantly improve their squad. The Gunners are said to be making an official bid soon for the England international.

But ahead of Rice's potential arrival, the Gunners have reportedly agreed personal terms with another midfielder.

According to Football Transfers, the North London club have struck a personal deal with Brighton midfielder Moises Caicedo. Arsenal went after the midfielder in the January transfer window, but couldn't struck a deal as they were not prepared to pay Brighton's astronomical figure transfer fee midseason.

But reports suggest they are confident of Caicedo deal and are increasingly likely to agree a transfer fee for the player with the Seagulls.

The 21-year-old had a fantastic 2022-23 season. He played 37 matches in the league and was instrumental for them as Brighton finished in the Europa League spot in the league table.

The Ecuador international reportedly has agreed personal terms with Chelsea and Liverpool, but the Gunners are leading the race with the added incentive of Champions League football.

The Times stated Arsenal are confident of signing both Caicedo and Rice, but the former seems to be a much more straightforward deal. Even the Brighton manager recently admitted the prized midfielder is likely to make a move away soon.

"I'm really sorry if we lose [Mac Allister and] Moises Caicedo, but players like this deserve to play at another level, another level in terms of competition, in terms of importance of the club, prestige of the club," Brighton manager Roberto de Zerbi said.
