Arsenal hunt for Thomas Lemar hits a roadblock

With players like Jack Wilshire delaying transfer process, Arsenal's efforts to rope in Thomas Lemar from Monaco has hit a roadblock

By Unnikrishnan

London, August 1: Arsenal's planned summer clear-out has hit the buffers with unwanted players refusing to take pay-cuts to move on.

Jack Wilshere, David Ospina, Kieran Gibbs, Carl Jenkinson, Lucas Perez, Calum Chambers and Mathieu Debuchy are all on the exit list, but so far all remain Arsenal players. The Gunners will save £19million-a-year in wages if they can release those players, according to the Daily Mail.

Watford, Crystal Palace, Fulham and Galatasaray are the clubs hoping to lure one of the fringe players away from Arsenal - but only if agreements can be made on salaries.

So far only Wojciech Szczesny has left the Emirates - joining Juventus for £10million and the club still want to sign Monaco's Thomas Lemar.

The only other option facing the north Londoners is to slash the transfer fees for those heading out the door.
