Arsenal improve offer for French international Thomas Lemar

Arsenal are ready to submit a third offer for Monaco forward Thomas Lemar worth £50 million after failing twice previously.

London, July 26: One of the players who has been strongly linked with Arsenal throughout this summer transfer window is Monaco midfield sensation Thomas Lemar and reports are claiming that Arsene Wenger has prioritised his signing.

Having already signed Alexandre Lacazette from Lyon and Sead Kolasinac from Schalke, the Gunners are focusing on getting a deal done for the France international.

Arsenal have already had two offers, the latest one worth £45 million, rebuffed by the Ligue 1 club. Monaco have insisted Lemar is not for sale but Arsenal believe that their stance could be broken.

It is believed that landing Lemar would open the door to Alexis Sanchez leaving the Emirates Stadium this summer but the Gunners are adamant that Lemar is not a replacement for Sanchez.

The Chilean is scheduled to return to pre-season training on Monday (July 31), where he will reiterate his intention to leave the club to Wenger.

Arsenal are still hopeful that they can persuade Sanchez to sign a new contract. However, we understand that there has been a breakdown in talks between the club and Sanchez's advisors, with the prospect of the South American signing fresh terms looking bleak everyday.

PSG and Manchester City both want the Chilean superstar but Wenger is keen not to sell and stated that he will rather see Sanchez leave the club for nothing when his contract expires.

Lemar is a pretty talented player who played a key role for Monaco last season as Leonardo Jardim's men snatched the Ligue 1 trophy away from Paris Saint Germain. He made a move from Caen to Monaco in 2015 and since then, he has become a sensation.

Lemar earned his first call-up to the national senior squad where he has won two caps and was impressive in them.
