It is the only football league which has a distinct five or six teams who are in the title race every year. The market value, popularity, and level of players make it the most lucrative destination for investors, players and fans.

What is the Poshest Club of the Premier League?

But when it comes to poshness, which club is at the top?

In a recent survey by Ticketgum, they have classified the Premier League clubs into four indicators and have ranked the poshest clubs of top-flight English football. The indicators used were median house prices, gross annual pay, total number of Waitrose and Marks & Spencer stores, as well as private schools - all within the same local authority as each club's football stadium.

The Premier League, known for its global appeal and high-profile clubs, also hosts some of the poshest football teams, with Chelsea proudly holding the summit spot.

With an impressive overall score of 9.68 out of 10, based on factors such as location, property value, and average income of residents, Chelsea stands atop of this ranking.

Chelsea's home ground, Stamford Bridge, is nestled in one of the UK's wealthiest areas, where the median house price reaches a staggering £1,357,500. The Chelsea residents, known as the nation's highest earners, command a gross annual pay standing at £41,892 - nearly £7,000 above the national average of £34,963.

Top Five of Premier League Poshest

Following closely behind Chelsea is Fulham, securing the second spot with a poshness score of 9.53 out of 10. Fulham leads in private school density and high-end supermarkets, rightfully earning their posh identity.

North London club Tottenham Hotspur clinches the third spot with a score of 7.84 out of 10, edging out Arsenal, which has a score of 7.63 out of 10. Tottenham Hotspur boasts one of the world's most hi-tech and expensive stadiums, which cost around one billion. The fifth spot goes to South London's biggest club, Crystal Palace, with a score of 6.95 out of 10.

The Rest of the Premier League

Bournemouth claims the sixth place as the first non-London team with a score of 6.47 out of 10, owing to its high number of independent schools per 100,000 people. Brighton and Hove Albion, Burnley, Newcastle United, and Brentford complete the top ten.

Notably, the Premier League giants Manchester United, Manchester City and Liverpool haven't made to the top 10.

Liverpool ranked joint 17th with a poshness score of 2.84, whereas both Manchester clubs are joint 12th with a poshness score of 3.74 out of 10.

Nottingham Forest hold the bottom spot of being the least posh Premier League football club with a score of 1.58 out of 10, primarily due to the lowest gross annual income in the Nottingham authority, recorded at £23,377.
