Arsenal and Manchester United target Leverkusen's Bailey

Leverkusen are in the mix for the Champions League places and Bailey’s contribution has alerted a host of Premier League outfits, according to the Mirror and the Sun.

Bengaluru, December 19: Arsenal are set to go head to head with Chelsea and Manchester United to land Bayer Leverkusen starlet Leon Bailey in January.

Bailey has taken the Bundesliga by storm scoring seven goals in the German Bundesliga this season already.

The 20-year-old only joined Leverkusen in January from Genk, but has already established himself as a crucial member of Heiko Herrlich’s squad. Adapting so quickly to new conditions in a new country is a sign of a big player and as expected big clubs are interested in his signature.

The fleet-footed winger underlined his importance by coming off the bench to bag a brace as Leverkusen drew 4-4 at Hannover on Sunday (December 17).

Leverkusen are in the mix for the Champions League places and Bailey’s contribution has alerted a host of Premier League outfits, according to the Mirror and the Sun.

A host of clubs from Spain and Italy are closely monitoring Bailey, however it looked like Chelsea were in pole-position to bag the speedy Jamaican next month.

Now it seems like Antonio Conte's work will be doubled if he has to secure the signature of the youngster.

Bailey has a contract with Leverkusen until 2022 but it is reported that his old friend Raheem Sterling has encouraged him to join the Premier League.

Blues boss Antonio Conte is looking to add to his squad in January as the race for the top four gathers pace.

However, Arsene Wenger is looking to wrap up a deal next month tabling an initial £15million bid. Arsenal are in need of acquisitions desperately and need a few bargain deals to cope with the departures of Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez for free.

Manchester United are also monitoring Bailey's situation but they are much behind Chelsea and Arsenal in the race for signing the Jamaican.
