Among the 23-man squad, Mikel Arteta has named several fresh faces, including summer arrivals Neto, Riccardo Calafiori, and Mikel Merino. The deadline day signing Raheem Sterling is also going to be part of the A-squad for the North London club.

Kieran Tierney included in Arsenal squad

However, the most surprising addition is Kieran Tierney, the forgotten defender who has yet to feature this season due to ongoing recovery from a hamstring injury.

This year's competition has swapped its familiar group setup for a 36-team league phase. Each team will play eight games against different opponents, and the top eight teams will advance automatically to the knockout stages. Teams ranked between 9th and 24th will enter a play-off round to earn a place in the last 16, increasing the level of competition and strategy required to progress.
