Bournemouth vs Arsenal: Which Gunners players may be out with injuries?

By Neellohit Ray

In preparation of Saturday's Premier League match between Arsenal and Bournemouth, Mikel Arteta must wait anxiously to learn the health status of Bukayo Saka and Declan Rice.

The two England internationals were not included in the matchday squad for this week's Carabao Cup third-round match against Brentford.

Prior to the trip to Bournemouth, Arteta's options are limited as Gabriel Martinelli, Leandro Trossard, Thomas Partey, and Jurrien Timber all still out due to separate injuries. As a result, players like Mohamed Elneny, Reiss Nelson, and Emile Smith Rowe may have the chance to play against the Cherries.

With that said, before this weekend's trip to Bournemouth, here is a look at the most recent Arsenal injury news and comeback dates.

Declan Rice

Status: Major doubt

Type of injury: Back

Possible return date: September 30 (vs Bournemouth)

Declan Rice missed Wednesday's victory against Brentford because of a back problem that prevented him from playing beyond halftime in the North London derby. Although Arteta is certain that his record signing has not sustained any significant injuries, he is nevertheless concerned about the midfielder's health ahead of the match on Saturday.

Leandro Trossand

Status: Major doubt

Type of injury: Thigh

Possible return date: September 30 (vs Bournemouth)

Leandro Trossard has missed Arsenal's last two games due to a thigh injury he picked up in training last week, but there is a slight chance the Belgian forward may be ready for this weekend.

Bukayo Saka

Bukayo Saka

Status: Major doubt

Type of injury: Knock

Possible return date: September 30 (vs Bournemouth)

Bukayo Saka left the game with Spurs last Saturday in the closing minutes due to an injury, and after sitting out the victory over Brentford, Arteta has acknowledged that it is "possible" that the England international won't be fit for the journey south.

Gabriel Martinelli

Status: Major doubt

Type of injury: Hamstring

Possible return date: September 30 (vs Bournemouth)

After suffering a hamstring injury against Everton two weekends ago, Gabriel Martinelli has not been seen on the field. Although Arteta has not yet ruled him out of the Bournemouth game, it is impossible to imagine the Brazilian playing.

Thomas Partey

Status: Out

Type of injury: Groin

Possible return date: October 21 (vs Chelsea)

Prior to the international break, Thomas Partey was hurt in a training session, and it will likely be a few more weeks before the Ghanaian midfielder is cleared to play again.

Jurrien Timber
