Arsenal Star currently in World Cup set to leave for Turkish Giants as Deal Finalized

Arsenal have reached an agreement with Turkish club Besiktas for the transfer of Belgian winger Leandro Trossard, according to multiple reports.

As per The Athletic, the deal is valued at approximately 20 million dollars, with Besiktas set to pay an initial €18 million and €2 million in performance-related add-ons.

Trossard set to leave Arsenal for Besiktas

Trossard, who has one year remaining on his contract at the Emirates Stadium, is understood to be open to the move, though personal terms are still being finalised.

The 31-year-old joined Arsenal from Brighton in January 2023 and has made a solid contribution, particularly as a versatile attacker capable of playing on either flank or through the middle. He has scored key goals in the Premier League and helped the Gunners challenge for major honours, including a Premier League winner's medal.

However, with limited starts in recent seasons and Arsenal looking to reshape their squad, Trossard has attracted interest from several clubs. Besiktas, keen to strengthen their attacking options ahead of the new Super Lig campaign, have moved decisively for the experienced international.

Reports indicate the transfer is unlikely to be completed immediately, with negotiations expected to continue after the ongoing 2026 FIFA World Cup. Trossard is believed to be considering a substantial salary package in Istanbul, potentially worth up to 9 million dollars per year.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is said to be focused on squad evolution, with the sale providing funds for potential reinforcements. Trossard leaves with the respect of fans for his clutch performances, as the Belgian was crucial for Arsenal last season. He scored the all-important goal against West Ham away, as the North London club got a crucial win.

The Gunners signed Trossard back in January 2023, as he made his move from fellow Premier League club Brighton. Over the last three and half seasons, he has been an integral part of Arsenal, with 70 goal contributions (36 goals, 34 assists) in 174 appearances across all competitions.

Leandro Trossard has started all matches for Belgium in the World Cup 2026 and has 2 goals and 1 assist to his name. He is expected to start as Belgium play USA in the Round of 16 clash next on Monday (July 6).
