Bengaluru, November 27: Arsenal contract rebel Mesut Ozil looks set to be in discussion of personal terms with Spanish giants Barcelona which will be a major concern for Gunners boss Arsene Wenger.
The Spanish giants look serious about a swoop for the Arsenal star giving Arsene Wenger a major dilemma over cashing in during the January window.
The 29-year-old can open talks with Barcelona on New Year’s Day as his contract finishes in the summer. And the German favours a move back to La Liga, where he played for Real Madrid before he joined the Gunners.
With Barcelona interested in his services, Ozil looks more than happy to discuss terms with the Blaugrana.
Paris Saint-Germain are also interested and they are one of the few clubs that can afford the £330,000-a-week wages that come with getting him on a free at the end of the season.
Manchester United are also in the running for Ozil, with Fenerbahce admitting defeat in their ambitious attempts to take him to Turkey as they cannot make the World Cup winner financially content.
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has also conceded that Ozil’s love for Arsenal and the fans might not be enough to keep him at the club and with Barcelona set to make an offer in January, the Frenchman will need to consider whether to sell Ozil in January or to lose him for free in the summer.
Arsenal have enjoyed a good run of form since their shambolic start to the season and Ozil has been central to that.
Ozil was man of the match in their 2-0 win against rivals Tottenham and Wenger highlighted his commitment despite having less than a season on his contract.
Barcelona are unsure whether they can manage to sign their first-choice target Philippe Coutinho and view Ozil as an alternative who is the much cheaper option.
