Bengaluru, March 21: Arsenal are set to make an incredible offer for RB Leipzig forward Emil Forsberg, according to reports in England.

German football expert Raphael Honigstein claims the Gunners were blocked from landing the Swedish international in January. The 26-year-old is understood to be keen on a move to the Premier League and the Gunners are set to try their luck again.

Honigstein told the Totally Football show podcast: “Emil Forsberg has been in and out of the (RB Leipzig) team with injuries, and they’ve really missed him a lot.

“He is still a guy who really wants to go to the Premier League. He was very upset when Arsenal’s offer was turned down straight away by Leipzig.

“I think (Arsenal) will come back in for him because he has got a lot of talent.”

The Swede has bagged five goals and three assists in the Bundesliga this season in 21 matches.

Leipzig boss Ralph Hasenhuttl and sporting director Ralf Rangnick will fight to hold on to their playmaker as they bid to limit outgoings in the close season.

The German giants are already planning for life without Naby Keita, who is on his way to Liverpool in the summer

While Hassenhuttl is also braced for potential bids for defender Dayot Upamecano and forward Timo Werner.

Too many players going out can upset their progress in the Bundesliga and knowing that, Forsberg would be a player they will be determined to hold on to.

Leipzig got back to winning ways on Sunday (March 18) with an impressive 2-1 home win over Bayern Munich. Keita and Werner cancelled out Sandro Wagner’s opener for the champions for Leipzig’s first win in five league games to keep them in the race for Champions League football next season.
