Arsenal Thrashes Tottenham 5-0 While Chelsea Secures Late Win Against Everton

In a dominant performance, Arsenal defeated Tottenham 5-0 in the Women's Super League. Meanwhile, Chelsea's late goal from Lauren James clinched a comeback victory over Everton, maintaining their unbeaten record this season.

Arsenal delivered a commanding 5-0 victory over Tottenham in the Women's Super League north London derby. Despite this, Chelsea's dramatic win against Everton prevented Arsenal from closing the gap on the league leaders. A crowd of 56,784 at Emirates Stadium witnessed Tottenham defender Clare Hunt score an own goal, giving Arsenal an early lead. Mariona Caldentey extended the advantage before halftime, with Frida Maanum and Alessia Russo adding goals early in the second half.

Chloe Kelly made her second debut for Arsenal, coming on when they were already leading 4-0. She received a warm welcome from fans, having first joined the club at age 12. Emily Fox sealed the win with a long-range goal in the 90th minute. This victory moved Arsenal to third place with 30 points from 14 games this season.

Arsenal Dominates Tottenham; Chelsea Wins Late

Chelsea maintained their unbeaten streak by defeating Everton 2-1. Sonia Bompastor's team seemed headed for their first loss when Kelly Gago scored for Everton in the 51st minute. However, Mayra Ramirez equalised after 12 minutes, and Lauren James secured Chelsea's win with a late goal from 25 yards out in stoppage time.

The victory marked Chelsea's 13th win in 14 league matches under Bompastor. Kiera Walsh also made her first start for Chelsea since joining from Barcelona. Chelsea remains seven points ahead of Manchester United, who achieved their sixth consecutive win by defeating Crystal Palace 3-1.

Elisabeth Terland scored twice for Manchester United, while Mille Gejl netted an equaliser for Crystal Palace. Grace Clinton's late header secured United's victory. Crystal Palace remains at the bottom of the table, three points behind Leicester City.

Struggles and Triumphs at Table Bottom

Leicester City moved above Aston Villa with a decisive 3-0 win, increasing their lead over Palace. Janice Cayman scored twice for Leicester, followed by Julie Thibaud's quick goal. This was Leicester's third win of the season, leaving Aston Villa in eleventh place.

West Ham climbed to eighth place after defeating Brighton 3-1. Shekiera Martinez and Nikita Parris exchanged early goals before Riko Ueki put West Ham ahead after an hour. Viviane Asseyi secured the win with a penalty kick.

The league standings remain competitive as Brighton stays fifth but risks falling further behind if Manchester City wins against Liverpool later on Saturday.
