Arsenal claimed the top position in Group C of the Women's Champions League with a dramatic 3-2 victory over Bayern Munich at Meadow Park. Mariona Caldentey's late penalty secured the win, ensuring Arsenal's automatic seeding in the quarter-finals. Both teams had already advanced to the knockout stages, but Renee Slegers' squad needed this victory to clinch the group.
Arsenal started strong, taking an early lead when Glodis Vigosdottir accidentally turned Caitlin Foord's corner into her own net just seven minutes into the match. However, Bayern Munich equalised six minutes before half-time through Magdalena Eriksson, who then put them ahead in the 58th minute.

Arsenal quickly responded to Bayern's lead as Alessia Russo volleyed in Katie McCabe's corner just two minutes later. The decisive moment came in the 85th minute when Tuva Hansen was penalised for handling Caldentey's shot. Caldentey, who had missed a penalty against Liverpool recently, converted this time by sending Ena Mahmutovic the wrong way.
In another Group C match, Juventus ended their campaign on a high note with a 3-0 victory over Valerenga. Valentina Bergamaschi opened the scoring in the sixth minute, and Sofia Cantore along with Emma Kullberg secured all three points in the second half. Valerenga finished without a win in their group matches.
Meanwhile, Barcelona overtook Manchester City to claim first place in Group D after defeating them 3-0. Barcelona needed a win to surpass City and dominated much of the first half before Claudia Pina broke the deadlock just before halftime.
Aitana Bonmati, recently named FIFA Best Women's Player of the Year, extended Barcelona's lead in the 57th minute. Substitute Alexia Putellas sealed their victory with a stunning 20-yard strike twelve minutes later.
Hammarby secured third place in Group D with a narrow 2-1 win over St Polten. Despite Kamila Dubcova scoring for St Polten, they exited the tournament without earning any points after six consecutive defeats.
The results highlight Arsenal and Barcelona's strong performances as they advance further into the competition. Both teams demonstrated resilience and skill to secure crucial victories at this stage of the tournament.
