Bengaluru, August 30: FA Cup champions Arsenal have reportedly turned down an offer of 50 million pounds for Chilean forward Alexis Sanchez from Premier League rivals Manchester City, the London club revealed.
Reports in the English press had linked Sanchez with a move to Pep Guardiola's side in exchange for England forward Raheem Sterling.
"No formal bid but fair to say that figure was turned down. No player involved," an Arsenal spokesperson said.
There could be an exodus of players from the Emirates before Thursday's transfer deadline with British media reporting that an agreement for Chelsea to sign Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain was close.
But Arsenal said a deal for the 24-year-old England midfielder was not agreed.
"Nothing has moved on with him yet," the spokesperson said.
Arsenal fans have been losing pateince after the team's dismal start to the Premier League campaign and they took to Twitter to vent their ire.
Don't blame Ox one bit and expect to see Alexis and Ozil follow. Wheels falling off but Wenger still gets a pay rise. #Arsenal are a joke.

Last season, while the team struggled to finish fifth, there was constant speculation about the future of their manager Arsene Wenger but that uncertainty was supposed to end when the Frenchman was given a new two-year contract.
The League has just started, but sections of the Arsenal fans are already calling for Wenger's removal and the team's displays suggest far deeper problems afflict the North London club than just a slow start to the season.
