
London, March 16: Danny Welbeck's brace and Granit Xhaka's long-range effort were enough for Arsenal to cancel out the strike of Calhanoglu which eventually saw the Gunners go through to the next round of Europa League.
Arsenal had the won the first leg with a margin of 2-0 at San Siro Stadium. AC Milan had to score two away goals to keep their hopes alive in this tie. But Calhanoglu's brilliant strike wasn't enough for Milan as Arsenal scored 3 goals to get into the next round of Europa League.

AC Milan were in the attacking front from the very first minute of the match. Andre Silva missed a golden opportunity to give Milan the important lead in the second leg. But they didn't have to wait much long to get the first goal of the match. Calhanoglu's brilliant shot from long range at 35th minute kept Milan's hope alive in the tie.
2. A controversial penalty was given to Arsenal:
Danny Welbeck was awarded a very soft penalty some moments after the Milan Goal. It was a slight contact between Ricardo Rodriguez and Welbeck in the penalty box and Welbeck fell on the ground. Welbeck didn't commit any mistake to put the ball into the Goal.
3. Granit Xhaka's long-range effort almost ended the tie for Milan:
AC Milan tried to get back into the match but somehow they were not clinical in the attacking third. At 71st minute of the match, Granit Xhaka's long ranger was not kept out by Milan Goalkeeper Donnarumma as the ball went to the other direction to go to the opposite side of the goal.
