Arsenal vs Aston Villa: Mikel Arteta provides injury updates on Gunners trio ahead of PL Match

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has given the latest updates on the Gunners trio ahead of their Premier League match against Aston Villa on Sunday (April 14).

The Gunners are set to welcome former manager Unai Emery's Aston Villa at the Emirates Stadium. It is going to be a crucial match for them, as the North London club aim to restore their top status in the Premier League.

After a 2-2 draw in their UEFA Champions League quarterfinal 1st leg match against Bayern Munich, Mikel Arteta wouldn't want any fresh injuries at the business end of the season.

And as Arteta spoke to the press ahead of the match, the Spaniard revealed the injury status of three Arsenal players - Gabriel Magalhaes, Gabriel Jesus and Jurrien Timber.

Gabriel Magalhaes played the last match against Bayern but is carrying a knock.

"We've got one more day to prepare the match. We will see tomorrow if everyone is available. We have some but hopefully, with another day we'll be okay," Arteta said on Gabriel.

Striker Gabriel Jesus, who set up the goal for Leandro Trossard against Bayern, is struggling with knee pain but the Arsenal manager is confident that Jesus will be available for the Aston Villa clash.

"In elite sport to play without pain, I think it is very difficult. Gabi has this toughness and this character that he always wants to overcome. He has overcome some difficulties in terms of injuries and he is ready again," the Arsenal manager added.

Defender Jurrien Timber is recoreing from his ACL injury and although Arteta is hopeful of him playing this season, the Dutchman is still not ready to feature on the bench.
