Arsenal Seeks To Transform Game Dominance Into Goals Against Crystal Palace

Mikel Arteta expresses confidence that Arsenal can resolve their scoring challenges in the Premier League as they prepare to face Crystal Palace. Following a recent victory over Palace in the EFL Cup, Arsenal aims to close the gap with league leaders by converting their dominance into goals.

Mikel Arteta remains optimistic about Arsenal's ability to resolve their scoring issues in the Premier League. The Gunners are set to face Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Saturday. Earlier this week, they defeated Palace 3-2 in the EFL Cup quarter-final, with Gabriel Jesus scoring a second-half hat-trick. Arsenal are unbeaten in their last nine matches across all competitions and aim to close the gap on the top two by securing a league win.

Despite dominating their recent 0-0 draw with Everton, Arsenal failed to secure a victory. Arteta acknowledged this issue but believes it will be resolved if they score from open play in the Premier League. "The frustrating part is that watching it back all the incredible things the team does and still not get rewarded for the three points," he said. "At the end of the day, what we have to do is put the ball in the back of the net, and then we don't have that issue."

Arsenal Aims for Goals Against Crystal Palace

Crystal Palace recently secured a 3-1 win over Brighton, moving them four points clear of relegation. This victory extended their unbeaten streak in the Premier League to five games. Eddie Nketiah made a significant impact off the bench at both Amex Stadium and Emirates midweek, scoring against his former club. Oliver Glasner is confident that Nketiah will soon find his first Premier League goal for Palace.

"He's [Nketiah] very ambitious, he's working hard and was thrown back with an injury then not coming back," Glasner stated. He praised Nketiah's positive influence alongside Daichi Kamada at Brighton, noting their hard work after struggling early in the second half. Glasner added, "But in my experience, if a player works as hard as he is working, he will get the reward."

Eddie Nketiah has been active since joining Palace from Arsenal earlier this season but has yet to score in 11 Premier League games despite having 20 shots. Notably, four players have scored their first Premier League goal for a club against Arsenal after previously playing for them: Kevin Campbell (Nottingham Forest), Nicolas Anelka (Bolton), David Bentley (Tottenham), and Konstantinos Mavropanos (West Ham).

Gabriel Martinelli stands out for Arsenal as he has scored more goals against Crystal Palace than any other team in the Premier League (five). Three of these goals came as a substitute, making him unique among Gunners' players for scoring most from the bench against a specific opponent.
