Bengaluru, Mar 2: Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has confirmed that he will not join FC Barcelona next season as their manager replacing outgoing boss Luis Enrique.

Arsene Wenger's contract with the Gunners expires after this season and the legendary veteran French manager is yet to sign a contract extension with the club.

When Wenger was asked whether he would the La Liga giants, he said: "No my preference has always been the same and will remain the same.

"I am not looking for jobs in other clubs or jobs for other people. I am just focused on me getting to the next level and trying to improve.

"I think [to be a] competent manager is to always try to improve and to see what you can do better. To reinvent yourself. That's what I always try to do. That's it."

Doubts were raised over Arsene Wenger's future after Arsenal once faltered in UEFA Champions League are far behind in the EPL title race.

Wenger himself has claimed that he is yet to make a decision on his future.

The manager added: "Look I think there is no need to come back on that at the moment."

Arsenal take on Liverpool in a crucial EPL game week 27 encounter on Saturday, March 4. It is a must-win game for both the Reds and the Gunners.

While Liverpool are fighting hard to enter the top 4 position in the league, Arsenal are still in the title race mathematically.
