Arsenal's manager, Mikel Arteta, maintains that the team's drive remains strong as they pursue Liverpool in the Premier League title race. Despite finishing second to Manchester City in the last two seasons, Arsenal is currently six points behind Liverpool at the season's midpoint. With a game in hand, Arteta believes there's still much to fight for.
Arteta expressed his thoughts before their upcoming match against Brighton. He stated, "With those numbers [the last two seasons], normally you win and we should have two Premier Leagues. The reality is we don't. You can always do better and improve, so there's more motivation, more eagerness, more enthusiasm to say: 'Can we still look at our team and say we can be better?' My answer is yes in every department, so let's go for it."
In 2024, Arsenal accumulated more points than any other Premier League team, securing 85 points with 26 victories—their highest since 2004. As they aim to surpass this achievement in 2025, Arteta has not dismissed the possibility of enhancing his squad during the transfer window.

The manager commented on potential transfers: "There's the opportunity to bring players that you believe can impact. We are always open to that. It's natural that it happens. But that's one part. The main part is how can we get more out of the team, the individuals we have and put the focus there?"
Arteta emphasises that while new signings could be beneficial, the primary focus should remain on maximising the potential of current players. He believes that enhancing individual performances will significantly contribute to achieving their goals.
As Arsenal prepares for their next challenge against Brighton at Amex Stadium, Arteta's commitment to improvement and motivation remains unwavering. His belief in his team's ability to excel continues to drive their pursuit of success this season.
