Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is considering entering the January transfer market due to increasing injury concerns within his squad. Recent injuries have affected key players, including Cristhian Mosquera, who was injured during Arsenal's 2-0 victory over Brentford. This win placed Arsenal five points ahead in the Premier League standings. Mosquera joins William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes on the injury list, while Declan Rice is also doubtful for the upcoming match against Aston Villa.

Arteta emphasised the importance of being prepared for potential transfers. "We always have to be prepared," he stated. He explained that if there is an opportunity to enhance or safeguard the squad, they must remain open to it. Arteta acknowledged the unpredictability of football and stressed the need to stay alert for any risks that might arise before the transfer window closes.

Despite significant spending in the summer on players like Viktor Gyokeres, Martin Zubimendi, Noni Madueke, and Eberechi Eze, Arteta remains open to further strengthening his team in January. The manager highlighted that they are aware of where potential risks could affect their squad and are ready to act if necessary.

The return of Gyokeres, Martin Odegaard, and Madueke from injuries has been a boost for Arsenal as they aim for their first Premier League title since 2004. However, with a demanding schedule ahead, Arteta hopes for more flexibility in match timings to aid player recovery. "Whenever it's possible to help and give the players an extra day or hours to fulfil their maximum potential, let's do it," he said.

Arsenal faces Aston Villa in an early kick-off on Saturday after playing Brentford just days earlier. Arteta expressed his readiness for the game but reiterated his desire for a more relaxed schedule to ensure players can recover adequately between matches.
