Ashley Cole set for Chelsea return in a fortnight

London, Apr 9(ANI): Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti has said that defender Ashley Cole will give a massive boost to his club by making his Premier League comeback against Stoke in a fortnight.

Cole broke his left ankle while playing in his club's Premier League game against Everton on February 11, and underwent an operation to have three pins inserted in the bone.

"He needs to train, but we hope Ashley Cole will be ready for the Stoke game on April 25," The Sun quoted Ancelotti, as saying.

"He is doing very well. Essien will be back maybe one week later than Ashley, but he is also doing very well," he added.

Cole's recovery will be good news for England manager Fabio Capello ahead of this summer's World Cup in South Africa.

Capello's 30-man preliminary squad joins up on May 17.

He has made it clear that he will not include any injured player in the final team for the crucial tournament. (ANI)
