Aston Villa secured a dramatic 3-2 win over West Ham in the Premier League, thanks to Morgan Rogers' impressive two goals in the second half. The match saw Villa aiming to strengthen their top-four position, while West Ham sought to escape relegation worries. Despite their differing goals, both teams delivered an exciting contest.

West Ham struck first with Mateus Fernandes scoring the season's quickest goal just 29 seconds in. His powerful shot found the top corner, giving West Ham an early lead. However, Aston Villa quickly responded. Eight minutes later, Ollie Watkins connected with John McGinn's cross, leading to Konstantinos Mavropanos inadvertently heading into his own net.

Villa's Rogers Leads Comeback Against West Ham

Jarrod Bowen restored West Ham's advantage midway through the first half by cleverly redirecting Freddie Potts' low shot past Marco Bizot from close range. This goal put the Hammers back in front and set the stage for a thrilling encounter.

Morgan Rogers was instrumental in Villa's comeback, scoring twice after a disallowed goal for Bowen due to offside. Rogers equalised in the 50th minute with a skillful turn and finish. He then completed Villa's turnaround with a stunning long-range strike that soared over Alphonse Areola 11 minutes before full-time.

Record-Breaking Performances

This victory marked Aston Villa's longest winning streak in top-flight history, having won 10 of their last 11 matches (L1), including six consecutive victories. Rogers has been crucial this season, with all nine of his away league goals either giving Villa the lead or drawing them level.

On the other side, Jarrod Bowen reached a personal milestone by becoming only the second player to achieve 100 Premier League goal involvements for West Ham (61 goals, 39 assists), following Michail Antonio (101). Bowen was pivotal throughout the match, contributing significantly to West Ham's expected goals tally of 1.04.

Villa outperformed their expected goals of 0.62 through clinical finishing from Rogers. The match showcased both teams' attacking prowess and individual brilliance on display at Villa Park.
