Ian Maatsen scored just before half-time, and Donyell Malen added a penalty, though Roi Mishpati's goalkeeping prevented further goals.

Unai Emery praised his team's ability to draw on past European experiences. He noted that the squad is becoming more adept at handling continental challenges, building on lessons from their Conference League journey two years ago. "We were playing solidly and playing seriously," Emery told TNT Sports. "We used our passion and our experience in Europe."
