Manchester City suffered their 6th Premier League defeat on Saturday (December 21) as they lost to Aston Villa.
Pep Guardiola's team fell to a 1-2 defeat at Villa Park, as Unai Emery's Aston Villa managed a massive victory. Jhon Duran and Morgan Rogers scored the goals for Villa while Phil Foden scored the goal for Man City.

With the defeat, Manchester City have now faced defeat in 9 matches out of 12 encounters across all competitions. With the loss at Villa, they have now lost three matches in a row as well. Man City lost against Juventus in the Champions League, and has now lost back-to-back Premier League matches against Man United and Aston Villa.
"We changed our pressing for the reason John [Stones] could not continue. Congratulations Aston Villa and keep going. In the mid-block they are so strong. We have good moments, we had chances, more chances than in the [Manchester] United game, but in the second half we dropped and our pressing was not good enough. We struggled a little bit and we could not drop them well. We found a goal in the end, but too late. We struggle to score and we concede goals," Man City boss Guardiola said to TNT Sports.
Apart from that, Man City have also lost six matches in the Premier League, which has equalled the joint 2nd most losses for them in the last nine seasons. Out of the first 17 matches, Pep Guardiola's team has only won eight matches. They are currently placed 6th in the Premier League table, out of Champions League and Europa League places.
In recent times, the biggest number of defeats for Manchester City came in the 2015-16 season, when they lost 10 defeats. Also, they lost nine matches in the 2019-20 season when they finished 2nd behind Liverpool.
