Matteo Politano equalised by firing into the net's roof, followed by Scott McTominay converting Frank Anguissa's pass. Atalanta levelled ten minutes into the second half through Ademola Lookman, who bypassed Matteo Ruggeri to score past Alex Meret. However, with just 12 minutes left, Lukaku clinched the win by heading Anguissa's cross beyond Marco Carnesecchi.
