Madrid, August 31: Atletico Madrid goalkeeper Jan Oblak has claimed that he could move away from the club, but not this year and will wait until next year.
The 24-year-old has established himself as one of Europe's finest young goalkeeper since his move to Benfica in 2014 and even won la Liga goalkeeper of the year 2015-16.
The Slovenian number one signed a new improved five-year contract with the Rojiblancos last February and the contract reportedly ties him down with a €100 million release clause.
Oblak was constantly linked with a move to Paris Saint-Germain earlier in the summer and was also linked with Manchester United as a backup in case David de Gea left the Reds.
However, none of the moves materialised and the Slovenian keeper now in an interview has stated that he is completely focussed on Atletico for the time being but hinted that he could move on next summer.
Ahead of his country's World Cup qualifiers against Slovakia and Lithuania, Oblak spoke to local paper Ekipa but did not disclose anything about the transfer rumours and only claimed that he now cares about a good season with Atletico.
"I can't say much about what has happened in recent weeks, I really can't," Oblak said. "What I can say is that for now I'm an Atletico player and will be until the end of the season.
"After that, I don't know, we'll see. You never know, sometimes things change from day to day. So, for now I can only talk about Atletico, with whom I am happy. I hope we'll have a good season together."
Atletico have recently tied down Antoine Griezmann, Koke and Saul with new contracts, however, their manager Diego Simeone whose contract expires at the end of the 2017-18 campaign is yet to be finalised.
