Atletico Madrid's head coach, Diego Simeone, emphasised the team's unwavering focus on securing a top-eight finish in the Champions League. Currently fifth in the standings, Atletico faces RB Salzburg next. Salzburg has already been eliminated after six losses in seven games. A victory for Atletico will ensure their progression to the round of 16.

Simeone expressed confidence despite losing LaLiga's top spot to Real Madrid following a 1-1 draw with Villarreal. He assured that his team remains focused on their European campaign. "We are not thinking about anything other than tomorrow's game," Simeone stated during a press conference. "We want to do it in the best possible way."

Facing a young and energetic Salzburg side, Simeone acknowledged the importance of the upcoming match. He noted, "The game is very important and we want to take it to them where it will hurt them." The coach highlighted their initial goal of being among the top eight teams when this new tournament began.

"I'm not looking too much at everything to do with who can qualify and who can't," Simeone remarked. He expressed confidence that prominent clubs would overcome difficulties and continue competing for the Champions League title.
