Atletico Madrid Finalises Agreement To Sign David Hancko From Feyenoord

Atletico Madrid have successfully negotiated a deal with Feyenoord for David Hancko. The Slovak defender's move will be confirmed after he completes the necessary formalities. Initially, Hancko was on the verge of joining Al-Nassr, but Atletico seized the opportunity when that transfer fell through.

Hancko has been a key player for Feyenoord over the past three seasons. Before his time in the Netherlands, he played for Zilina, Fiorentina, and Sparta Prague. His experience across these clubs has shaped him into a formidable defender.

During his tenure in the Eredivisie, Hancko made 97 appearances. He achieved 36 clean sheets and had an impressive tackle success rate of 65.9%. Additionally, he won 64.1% of his duels, showcasing his defensive prowess on the field.

The Slovak international was instrumental in Feyenoord's success. In 2023, he helped them secure the league title and followed it up by winning both the KNVB Cup and Johan Cruyff Shield in subsequent years.

The 27-year-old becomes Diego Simeone's fourth defensive acquisition this summer. He joins Marc Pubill, Matteo Ruggeri, and Clement Lenglet as part of Atletico's strategy to bolster their backline for upcoming challenges.
