Aubameyang leaves Chelsea to join French club Marseille

Chelsea striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has left the club for French side Marseille. The Gabonese is one more to Chelsea's long list of exodus this summer.

Marseille confirmed the signing of the 34-year-old Gabon international on Friday, which brings an end to his miserable time in west London.

Aubameyang scored one goal in 15 Premier League appearances for the Blues and was left out of the squad for the Champions League knock-out stages by then-boss Graham Potter last season.

Aubameyang joined Chelsea last season from Barcelona and has failed to replicate his brilliant Arsenal performances for the Blues.

Aubameyang follows the likes of Kai Havertz and Mason Mount out of the club this summer while Romelu Lukaku - who preceded Aubameyang in the club's supposedly 'cursed' no. 9 shirt.

The former Arsenal captain will be joining his former Arsenal teammates Sead Kolasinac and Matteo Guendouzi at the French club. He will also team up with Alexis Sanchez at Marseille, the man he replaced at the Emirates when he joined the Gunners back in 2018.

Aubameyang also has previous Ligue 1 experience, having played for Saint Etienne, AS Monaco, Dijon during his early days.
