The Ballon d'Or 2023 nominees were announced on Wednesday (September 6) by France Football.
The prestigious football award ceremony hosted by the French footballing fraternity is kind of regarded as the pinnacle of the individual trophy in the game. It is given to the best male player of the previous season comprising of both his club and national team achievements and individual performances.

In 2023, Ballon d'Or has the final 30 nominees whose names were announced on Wednesday. Along with the Ballon d'Or Golden Ball, there will be also a women's Ballon d'Or, Yashin Trophy and Kopa Trophy - which all will be awarded on the day.

The Yashin Trophy is handed to the best goalkeeper of the previous season and there are 10 nominees in total for this award.
The names are Mike Maignan, Yassine Bounou, Andre Onana, Ederson, Brice Samba, Emiliano Martinez, Thibaut Courtois, Aaron Ramsdale, Dominik Livakovic, and Marc-Andre Ter Stegen.
The Kopa Trophy is awarded to the best under-21 player of the previous season. Gavi and Pedri - the two youngsters of Barcelona have been the serial winners of this particular award in the last two years, and both of them are shortlisted this year as well.
