Ballon d'Or 2024 Award Winners: The prestigious award of the Ballon d'Or has bestowed some of the biggest talents of world football on Monday (October 28). Rodri won the men's award whereas Aitana Bonmati won the women's award.
The prestigious Ballon d'Or has been awarded by France Football since 1956 to honour top footballers of the previous season. Journalists worldwide cast votes to rank their top 10 players. Besides the men's award, accolades will be given to the best female player, goalkeeper, coach, and young talent.

The list of nominees for the men's Ballon d'Or 2024 included several prominent names. Among them are Vinícius Junior, Erling Haaland, Kylian Mbappe, Rodri, and Jude Bellingham were the frontrunners.
The women's category also features a strong lineup of nominees for the Ballon d'Or 2024. Apart from that, the best coaches, teams and the best goalkeepers will also be awarded in the ceremony.
Emiliano Martinez won the best goalkeeper award, whereas Harry Kane and Kylian Mbappe were awarded the Gerd Muller Trophy for scoring the most number of goals. Lamine Yamal, the Barcelona youngster, won the Kopa Trophy as the best young player.
Rodrigo, popularly known as Rodri has won the Ballon d'Or 2024 award. The Spanish midfielder won the Premier League title with Man City and also won the Euros with Spain.

Barcelona's Aitana Bonmati has won the Women's Ballon d'Or 2024 award. She has now won the award consecutive times. The 26-year-old won the LaLiga with Barcelona and also won the Women's World Cup in 2023.
The Yachine Trophy for the year has been won by Emiliano Martinez. The Argentina goalkeeper won the Copa America 2024 and had a good outing with his club Aston Villa.
Barcelona youngster Lamine Yamal won the Kopa Award. The youngster also became the first player under 18 years of age to win the prestigious award. He became the youngest goal-scorer in the Euros at the age of 16 years 362 days and also became the youngest to win the Euros.

FC Barcelona Femeni team won the women's team of the year after an outstanding season.
Harry Kane and Kylian Mbappe both scored 52 goals last season. Kane netted them for Bayern Munich and England whereas Mbappe scored for PSG and France.
Carlo Ancelotti won the UEFA Champions League with Real Madrid, thus becoming the first manager to win 5 Champions League titles.
Emma Hayes led the USA women's team to win the Olympic Gold in Paris.
