Barca's 17-Year-Old Marc Guiu Scores Dream Debut Goal in 34 Seconds After Substitution

The youthful player beat Athletic Club 1-0 by scoring his debut goal with just his second senior touch! All you need to know about La Masia's newest hit is right here.

Coach Xavi Hernández benched his team 78 minutes into FC Barcelona's Sunday night encounter against Athletic Club in an attempt to penetrate Athletic's resilient defence. Alejandro Balde and Fermn López took the places of Marcos Alonso and Marc Guiu in his two substitutes. Barça held the upper hand.

Iigo Martnez sent a pass forward that broke the middle line. Joo Félix received the ball and, with superb one-touch control, sent a through pass to Marc Guiu, who had just come in, leaving him one-on-one with Spain's and Athletic Club's number one keeper Unai Simón.

It only took the 17-year-old two touches - one to play the ball onto his right side and another to finish into the back of the net - for the 17-year-old to go down in FC Barcelona history as the scorer of the club's fastest goal by a rookie.

Guiu is a centre-forward for Barça's Juvenil 'A' team, having joined La Masia as a seven-year-old in 2013. He is a classic number nine ten years later: physically imposing (1.87m), forceful with intensity and finishing skills. With five goals this season, he leads the Juvenil A side, and coach Rafael Marquez has already given him a debut with FC Barcelona's reserve side.

He has also distinguished himself with the Spanish national team's youth divisions, netting four goals alongside colleague Lamine Yamal at the U17 European Championships last season. Nothing, however, could have prepared him or Barça fans for what happened on Sunday night following a call-up and maiden senior outing for the senior team.

He was on cloud nine after the match, saying, "I had dreamed so much about this moment." "Many nights and many occasions." We are always prepared; we perform a great job in the lower levels, and when we are called up, we go with everything we have."

He is the latest in a long line of emerging young talents to stand out for FC Barcelona in recent seasons, solidifying their status as one of Europe's most intriguing youth sides right now. Guiu's spectacular debut, with Pedri, Gavi, Fermn López, Alejandro Balde, and Lamine Yamal, demonstrates that Barça's future is bright.
