Barcelona took a commanding step towards the Champions League semi-finals by defeating Borussia Dortmund 4-0. Robert Lewandowski scored twice against his former team, adding to Raphinha's early goal. Lamine Yamal also found the net late in the game. Dortmund now faces an uphill battle to overturn this deficit when they host the second leg on Tuesday.

His tally stands at 12 goals and seven assists. Additionally, he is the first Barca player since Lionel Messi in 2019-20 to score and assist over 20 times in a single season.

Lewandowski's brace brought his Champions League knockout-stage total to 34 goals, equalling Karim Benzema's record. Only Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi have more goals in these stages. Meanwhile, Yamal made history by becoming the youngest player to reach 20 Champions League appearances at just 17 years and 270 days old.

Dortmund had moments of promise but failed to capitalise on them. Serhou Guirassy came close with a shot hitting the side netting after a clever turn. However, Barca's defence held firm throughout, denying any significant chances for their opponents.
