Camp Nou, Dec 19: Barcelona defender Javier Mascherano has been an obedient servant in the Catalan shirt in last decade where the Argentine has experienced all the success, winning four league titles and two Champions league with them.

The 33-year-old has now only two years left on his Barcelona contract but now according to reports, an agreement has been attained which will see the Argentine defender move to the Chinese Super League joining Hebei China Fortune in a move set to be valued at 10 million euros.

The defender is currently because of injury, however, has been surplus to requirements to the new boss Ernesto Valverde as the veteran till now has only made five appearances over this season.

And with World Cup on the horizon and future to look at, the defender has targetted such move where he would get an ample game time which could seal his place for Russia 2018.

As per reports, the Chinese club's officials have already flown down to Catalan and already agreed to terms with the player which will see the player move to the Asian continent in the first week of January.

It’s believed that Mascherano will earn around €9.5m per season in the Far East who are managed by former Manchester City and Real Madrid boss Manuel Pellegrini.

Mascherano was also believed to be a target of Italian giants Juventus and former club Liverpool where he could get backup roles, however, it seems he chooses for a better game time than the distinguished clubs.

Barcelona also have reportedly set their targets on two defenders to fill the void left by him. The Catalan clubs are reportedly looking at Palmeiras midfielder Yerry Mina and Ajax youngster Matthijs de Ligt as his successor.
