Barcelona's financial crisis is expected to deepen further the next summer with the La Liga side poised for another transfer window setback.

The Catalan-based club backed their manager over the period of the last year getting on the likes of Robert Lewandowski, Raphinha, and Jules Kounde, despite seemingly being stretched by monetary issues by activating several economic levers, including their TV rights. They are expected to continue their squad overhaul next summer as well. However, as per La Liga president Javier Tebas, going by the current finances, Barcelona will not be able to register any new players this summer before first raising £178 million. They are thought to be in debt to the tune of around £1 billion.

But despite the limitations, Barcelona president Laporta has been adamant about being able to sign reinforcements next summer. The Spanish leaders are not expected to sell off any right or trigger leverage further meaning, they are sure to use the transfer market to generate funds. There are several players in the squad who are of interest to other sides and Barcelona apparently believe selling 5-6 players from this squad could earn them as much as £250 million at least.

Six first-team stars Eric Garcia, Frenkie De Jong, Franck Kessie, Raphinha, Ferran Torres, and Ansu Fati reportedly are their prized assets. Barcelona could put them in the transfer market and there is a belief all of them could earn them some big amounts.

Eric Garcia's role in the first team has already been limited in recent times and till his stakes are high he could be sold. Frenkie De Jong and Franck Kessie are viewed as important first-team stars under Xavi. However, they too could be sold if funds need to be generated. Frenkie De Jong has enough admirers from England with Manchester United touted as the most interested party. They could target him again next summer and there is a possibility of Barcelona generating anything close to £100 million from his sales.

The prime three big assets that could fetch Barcelona big money are the front trio of Raphinha, Ferran Torres, and Ansu Fati. The three-star attackers have been regular members under Xavi however all of them have lacked consistency. Till their stakes are high Barcelona could bet on them to bring money. They are all valued in excess of €60m each by the Blaugrana.

Having said that, it is tough for any side to generate funds of around £250 million and sell six first-team stars at a go in a window. So it will be interesting to see how Barcelona and president Laporta copes with the situation ahead of next summer.
