Barcelona's Champions League journey ended in disappointment after a dramatic semi-final against Inter. Despite a valiant effort, Barca fell short in extra time. Hansi Flick, reflecting on the match, expressed determination to learn from this experience and return stronger. "We'll learn from this. Lamine Yamal nearly sealed the win but hit the post late on. However, Francesco Acerbi's equaliser forced extra time, where Davide Frattesi's goal secured Inter's victory.

With their European campaign over, Barcelona now turns its attention to domestic success. They lead LaLiga by four points over Real Madrid with four matches left. Unbeaten since December, Barca aims for a fourth consecutive win against Madrid on Sunday to edge closer to the title.

Flick acknowledged the disappointment but praised his players' efforts. "The team deserves the respect they have earned," he said. He highlighted their ambition to win titles and stressed the importance of preparing for upcoming challenges in LaLiga.

Refereeing decisions were a point of contention for Flick after the match. Polish referee Szymon Marciniak awarded Inter a penalty following a VAR review for Pau Cubarsi's challenge on Lautaro Martinez. Hakan Calhanoglou converted it into Inter's second goal.

Marciniak later reversed a penalty decision for Barcelona after VAR determined Henrikh Mkhitaryan's foul on Yamal occurred outside the box. Barca also protested potential handball by Acerbi and a foul by Denzel Dumfries during Inter's equaliser build-up.

"I don't want to talk too much about the referee," Flick remarked at a press conference. He noted that every close decision seemed to favour Inter but refrained from elaborating further on his thoughts about officiating.

Despite these setbacks, Flick remains optimistic about Barcelona's future prospects. He believes each player can take pride in their performance and looks forward to analysing the game calmly to identify areas for improvement.
